Index of Tips and Tricks  •  Complete Walkthrough

Here are the locations where you can find rupees worth 50 rupees (or more), aside from dungeons:
Rupees marked with a [*] are replaced by a stamp in the HD version on Wii U.

Ordon Village

  • 50 rupees - [Lantern required] In your house, in the basement
  • 50 rupees - Get on the column (where a man is standing), jump on the one just next to it, grab a Hawk Grass and summon an hawk. Around the columns, there is a brown hen. Throw the hawk on it. Once you have it, turn toward the house with the mill, notice the tall grass (between the wall and a fence) and fly up to them
OR: If you place Link judiciously, you can also use the Clawshot in order to catch the hen (do not stand on the edge of the column)
OR: On the mill's roof, turn into a wolf, jump and let yourself fall to the rupee
  • [*] 50 rupees - [After finding the Master Sword] Go to the ranch, in the barn, turn into a wolf and dig where your senses show you to. Light up the three torches to make a chest appear
  • 100 rupees - [Gale Boomerang required] Go behind Colin's house and look between the back wall and the rocky face, by switching to subjective view. Use the Gale Boomerang to lock on and bring back the rupee

Faron Woods

Kakariko Village

  • 200 rupees - [After finding the Master Sword] Turn into a wolf, go near the church and climb to the top thanks to Midna, then switch back to your human form and fire a bomb arrow inside the bell!
OR: [After completing the Goron Mines] during the day, pick up a cucco, take the road leading to the hot spring and once arrived, go left. You are now on a roof overlooking the village. Still with the cucco, fly up to the upper window of Barnes' house and go on following the road leading to the crow's nest. Stand near the Goron and look at the cliff on the right. Notice wood planks forming a jetty above the houses, then jump in the air while aiming at the wood planks. Next, look at the church and fly up to it! This might be hard so take a running start. Finnaly, fire a bomb arrow inside the bell!
This rupee is available each time you enter the village!
  • 100 rupees - Go to the hot water source on the roofs on the east side of the village, pick up the hen, then fly to Barnes's roof. Still holding the hen, climb the path up to the Goron who's in front of one of the crow's nest's doors. Stand opposite the crow's nest wall (so where the door actually is) and stand on the right as much as you can (to the far east on the platform). Look next to the crow's nest to the north, you can see a chest. You just have to fly to it!
