In this adventure, rupees are scarcer. To get certain items, you'll probably have to sell some materials.
A green rupee is worth 1 rupee, a blue rupee is worth 5 rupees, a red rupees is worth 20, a purple rupee is worth 50, a silver rupee is worth 100 and a golden rupee is worth 300!
Here are the locations where you can find rupees worth 50 rupees and over:

West Necluda

  • 50 : South of Proxim Bridge, there is a chest floating in the water. Use Cryonis to generate some ice pillars and get close to it, then again to get the chest out of the water.
  • 50 : West of the Dueling Peaks, on the northern side of the river, blow up the big rock on the cracked part, then open the chest containing a purple rupee.
  • 50 : West of the Dueling Peaks Tower and east of the skull, use Magnesis to locate and take a chest out of the water.
  • 50 : On the north Dueling Peak, on its western side, roughly halfway up, open the chest at the bottom of a tree.
  • 50 : Near the Dueling Peaks Stable, in the Ha Dahamar Shrine.
  • 50 : At the Dueling Peaks Stable, accept Rensa's game. Linked to the "Wild Horses" quest.
  • 100 : At the Dueling Peaks Stable, feed the dog several times (meat, apple, spicy pepper...) and it will eventually go away. Follow it until you see a buried chest and use the Magnesis Rune to dig it up.
  • 100 : Southeast of the Hills of Baumer, at the top of a high tower next to a pond, inside a chest.
  • 50 : East of the Deya Village Ruins (borderline with the Faron region), there is a metal plate on a cart. Use Stasis and hit it twice with a hammer f.ex. to reach the chest.
  • 50 : In the northeastern part of Hickaly Woods, blow up the cracked rocks on the big rock, then open the chest.
  • 50 : At Kakariko Village, talk to one of Impa's guards and bring his cucoos back into their pen. Linked to the "Flown the Coop" quest.
  • 50 : At Kakariko Village, talk to Lasli by night and show her five Sunset Fireflies. Linked to the "By Firefly's Light" quest.
  • 50 or an ore : At Kakariko Village, talk to little Cottla and suggest you play hide-and-seek with her. Linked to the "Playtime with Cottla" quest.
  • 100 : At the Pillars of Levia south of Kakariko, there are many high hills. At the top of the second one from the right, use Magnesis to get a chest out of the ground, then quickly open it before it falls down.
  • 50 : In the western part of Quatta's Shelf north of Kakariko, roughly halfway up the cliff, blow up the cracked rocks hiding a cave. Open the chests containing a purple rupee and some Bomb Arrows. There are also some barrels, some rusty weapons and a Luminous Stone.

East Necluda

  • 50 : North of the northeastern tip of Lake Siela, blow up the cracked rocks and open the chest.
  • 50 : South of the Hateno Tower, go across a forest and keep going towards a pond. Use Cryonis to take the chest out of the water. (Blow up the ore deposits for some Topazes and a Sapphire.)
  • 100 : In Firly Plateau (southeast of the Hateno Tower), lift the two stones next to the path under a hill and pick up a silver rupee.
  • 100 : At Hateno Village, give 10 Restless Crickets to Manny. Linked to the "A Gift for My Beloved" quest.
  • 640 : At Hateno Village, bring the weapons the little boy asks for. In total, you'll earn 640 rupees! Linked to the "The Weapon Connoisseur" quest.
  • 50 : North of Ginner Woods located west of Hateno Village, blow up the cracked rocks and open the chest.
  • 50 : In the middle of Nirvata Lake, generate some ice pillars to reach the centre, then use Magnesis to grab the chest and open it.
  • 100 : East of Lanayru Range, on Amfrosia Coast in its northern part, use Cryonis to reach a chest floating on the water.
  • 300 : At Kitano Bay (Necluda Sea), swim towards the rocks off shore, climb on the southeastern rock, then use Magnesis to salvage an underwater chest. Linked to the "The Hero's Cache" quest.
  • 100 : At Kitano Bay, on the west coast, use Magnesis to locate a chest underwater. Generate some ice pillars to get near it, then grab it and place it on the beach so you can open it.
  • 50 : At Necluda Sea, on the patch of land between Deepback Bay and Hateno Bay, from the beach, use Magnesis to get a chest from the bottom of the water.

Lanayru

  • 50 : In the Lanayru Wetlands, in the Goponga Village Ruins, open the chest.
  • 50 : In the Lanayru Wetlands, near Linebeck Island, use Magnesis to take the chest out of the mud.
  • 300 : In the Lanayru Wetlands, in the eastern part of Mercay Island where a small beach is, go inside a cave behind the tree, beware of the two Bokoblins and open the chest.
  • 50 ??? : North of the path located north of Zora River, look at your map to locate a skull. Go there and get rid of the Lizalfos and the Bokoblin to open the chest.
  • 100 : West of Ruto Mountain and north of a small lake, blow up the cracked rocks and open the chest.
  • 100 : At Zora's Domain, on the lowest level of the domain, open the chest to the south containing a silver rupee. (There is a Zora Spear inside a chest to the southwest and an Iron Sledgehammer to the southeast.)
  • [Once you've calmed Ruta] 100 : At Zora's Domain, talk to Torfeau and agree to defeat the Hinox at Ralis Pond. Linked to the "The Giant of Ralis Pond" quest.
  • 100 : At the Veiled Falls, inside the Dagah Keek Shrine.
  • 100 : Inside Vah Ruta, inside a chest on the second floor - see the walkthrough.
  • 300 : [Once you've calmed Ruta] Go to the Bank of Wishes and accept to escort Finley's message in a bottle. Linked to the "Special Delivery" quest.
  • 300 : In the lake of Tal Tal Peak's dam, generate some ice pillars to reach the centre, then use Magnesis to grab the chest and open it.
  • 100 ??? : North of Tal Tal Peak, aim for a skull filled with Lizalfos, fight them all (start by getting rid of the archers from the hill, then throw some bombs from the skull's eyes) and open the chest.
  • 100 : In the southeastern part of Samasa Plain, on a hill, use Magnesis to take out a chest buried in the grass.
  • 50 : Between Samasa Plain and Brynna Plain, on Lanayru Bay's bank, use Magnesis to take a chest out of the water.
  • 100 : Between Samasa Plain and Brynna Plain, on Lanayru Bay's bank, use Magnesis to take a chest out of the water (really close to the previous one).
  • 50 : Southwest of Brynna Plain, on the bank, open the chest in the water.
  • 100 : In the centre of Brynna Plain, fight the Lizalfos inside the skull and open the chest.
  • 50 : Northwest of Horon Lagoon, next to the tall cliffs, use Magnesis to take out a chest buried in the grass.
  • 100 : South of Wintre Island, locate a chest at the bottom of the water and use Cryonis and Magnesis to get it.
  • 2x 300 : All the way to the south of Lodrum Headland, open the two chests in the ruins.

Eldin

  • 100 : In the southern part of Trilby Valley, you can see a skull on the map. Get rid of the Bokoblins and Lizalfos or not, and open the chest.
  • 2x 50 : At the Abandoned North Mine, once you've freed Yunobo, open the chests and break the pots in the cave.
  • 100 : Next to the Goron Hot Springs, inside the Daqa Koh Shrine.
  • 100 : In Goron City, talk to Fugo and agree to go fight a Igneo Talus at Darunia Lake. Linked to the "The Road to Respect" quest.
  • 300 : At Goro Cove, southeast of the skeleton and east of the small rock in the lava, blow up the cracked rocks hiding a chest.
  • 100 : Southwest of Goron City, west of the Golow River, attack or not the Bokoblin campsite and open the chest at the top.
  • 100 : In Eldin Mountains, on the Isle of Rabac, inside the Shora Hah Shrine.
  • 300 : At Death Mountain, northeast of the "lava circle", in some ruins that you can see on the map, open the left chest.
  • 300 : In the northern part of Eldin's Flank, near the edge of the area, open the chest guarded by three Moblins. Go there at night while they're snoring!

Akkala

  • 100 : At the Akkala Tower, in the Akkala Citadel Ruins, in a chest.
  • 100 : At the South Akkala Stable, talk to Jana then to her sister Gleema and show her three different darners. Linked to the "Little Sister's Big Request" quest.
  • 100 : In Akkala Highlands, in the southwestern part of South Lake Akkala, use Magnesis to take a chest out of the water next to the waterfall.
  • 100 : In Deep Akkala, at the East Akkala Stable, talk to the guard Hoz and show him a picture of Kilton. Linked to the "A Shady Custormer" quest.
  • 100 : In the labyrinth in northeast Akkala (Lomei Island), amongst the 6 central pillars, the middle one in the right column hides a chest. Reach it from the ground level or by jumping from the "roof".
  • 100 : South of Ulria Grotto, in the small lake, use Magnesis to take a chest out of the water.
  • 120 : At Tarrey Town, talk to Hagie and agree to destroy two Guardians. He gives you 100 rupees to begin with, then 20 more rupees once the quest is done. Linked to the "Hobbies of the Riches" quest.
  • 300 : At Tarrey Town, talk to Ruli, agree to help her daughter who doesn't eat anymore and bake a special cake, she rewards you with a golden rupee. Linked to the "A Parent's Love" quest.
  • 300 : In Lake Akkala, north of Tarrey Town, there is a chest at the bottom of the water. Use Cryonis to get close to it and Magnesis to take it out of the water.

Great Hyrule Forest

Korok Forest

  • 100 : During the Test of Wood, before you reach the pond with two damaged barrels in front of you, look at the tree to your right and find a chest in its "mouth".
  • 100 : In front of the Great Deku Tree (or sometimes inside), talk to Peeks and help him see a picture of a Blupee. Linked to the "Legendary Rabbit Trial" quest.
  • 100 ou 300 : Next to the Great Deku Tree, talk to Kula who asks to see an Ice Rod. Talk to him again when you have such a rod and he gives you 100 rupees (or 300 if you show him a Blizzard Rod). Linked to the "A Freezing Rod" quest.
  • 300 : At the Serenne Stable, talk to the group of travelers and agree to help them find some leviathan bones. Linked to the "Leviathan Bones" quest.

Maritta Exchange Ruins and Serenne Stable

  • 100 : South of the Serenne Stable, in a moblin campsite, open the chest on high grounds.
  • 300 : At the Serenne Stable, feed the black dog several times (meat, apple, spicy pepper...) and it will eventually go away. Follow it until you see a buried chest and use Magnesis to take it out of the ground.

Hebra

  • 300 : East of Hebra Plunge, inside the Lanno Kooh Shrine.
  • 100 : At the Snowfield Stable, talk to Juannelle and agree to take a picture of a Stalhorse to show it to her. Linked to the "Stalhorse: Pictured !" quest.
  • 100 : In the Northern Tabantha Snowfield, next to the North Lomei Labyrinth, inside a chest hidden by some rocks you have to blow up southwest of the labyrinth.
  • 100 : At the Icefall Foothills, from the trees to the right (on the map), climb to the southeast, then blow up a bunch of cracked rocks to find a chest.
  • 100 + 300 : In the North Lomei Labyrinth, during the "Trial on the Cliff" shrine quest.
  • 100 : Northwest of Lake Kilsie, on high grounds, look for a buried chest and open it.
  • 100 : Southwest-west of the Hebra Tower and northwest of the Tabantha Village Ruins, use Magnesis to take a chest out of the snow.
  • 300 : South of the Hebra Tundra, northeast of a huge enemy campsite and south of a peak, is a small Moblin campsite. Fight them, then open the chest.
